June 2008 Edition: Issue 1

  • Jun. 13th, 2008 at 6:40 AM

Note from the Editor:

I've decided to make my journal into a news site with entries (or what I'd like to call "Issues") posted on a weekly basis. This entry marks the debut of the first issue on the UMN Interface. Just so you know, this is for all to read and comment on. If you have come across this and don't have an account with LiveJournal, you can still post your comments under "Anonymous," but I would ask those to please put your name at the end of your comment if you do, as I will screen through those to make sure they are appropriate.

Also, if you have any news relevant to anime, manga, conventions, or general news you think people should know, feel free to email me, and I'll put it in my next issue. Remember, it has to be informative, not personal or bias-based.

How Far Would You Go?

Earlier in the week, the Intro to Psychology class I'm taking during the summer was presented with a video called "The Science of Evil". It was a study involving human nature. This brings about two questions when you watch this video:

1. Realistically, what do you think you would have done had you been chosen to be a participant in the study? Why do you think this?

2. In Milgram's original study most people administered the most fatal shock to the "learner." Given this fact, what do you think this says about human nature in general?

Feel free to comment on this is you want to. This section is purely optional.
